About Us

Most history resources for homeschool families overlook the role of faith. Important names, dates, and events may be included, but the story of God’s hand in history is often missing or downplayed. Without a biblical perspective, history can feel like a random series of wars, kings, and discoveries — disconnected from God’s great plan of redemption.

At Heritage Lessons, we believe history only makes sense when it is told through the light of God’s Word. Every empire that rose, every reformer who preached, every awakening that swept a nation is part of God’s sovereign work in the world. When our children see this, history comes alive — not just as knowledge, but as faith-building truth.

Why we started

Many homeschool history programs treat faith as a side note or leave it out entirely. But when you remove God’s hand from history, the story becomes incomplete.

We started Heritage Lessons because we believe:

• Children need to see that God rules over history, nations, and people.

• Families are called to pass on faith and truth to the next generation.

• Heroes like Tyndale, Calvin, Knox, Bunyan, and Spurgeon should be remembered — not just as historical figures, but as men God used to change the world.

Our prayer is that through these lessons, children will not only learn history, but also love and trust the God who writes it.

What we stand for

We are unapologetically Bible-believing, Reformed, and creationist. Our studies are built on these convictions:

Rooted in Scripture

God’s Word is the foundation of everything we teach. Each lesson connects history to the Bible through carefully chosen verses, devotionals, and family reflection questions. We want children to see history through God’s eyes — not as random human events, but as part of His great plan of redemption.

Reformed Heritage

We stand in the stream of the Reformation, where believers rediscovered the authority of God’s Word and the truth of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Our studies highlight the men and women who preserved and proclaimed these truths, so families can treasure the faith that was passed down at great cost.

Creationist Conviction

We affirm the biblical account of 'young earth' creation: that God made the world in six days and directs all of history by His sovereign hand. History is not chance or accident — it is the story of God’s design and His unfolding plan of redemption.

Family Discipleship

We believe parents are called to disciple their children in the faith. Our lessons are written to be more than history worksheets — they are tools for family discipleship, designed to bring parents and children together around God’s truth.
